My Life in 2017; a recap
2018 is almost here and for so many of us it’s that time of the year when we reflect on the happenings of the year and re-evaluate our set goals and objective. For some others, it’s that time we write down our new year resolutions and list of goals to be achieved in the coming year.
However the case is slightly different from mine. I use this opportunity to recapitulate on life happenings thus far, modify a lot of things for next year, improve on what was done in the year and ultimately develop myself for next year.
The idea to actually let you guys in on my life recap wasn’t the initial plan, it only just came as a second thought as I feel that this post can re-assure a lot of us that all hope shouldn’t be lost and that whatever we set our minds to do, we would achieve. Let’s dig in right away.
FINALLY : finished N.Y.S.C early this year, for my non Nigerian readers National Youth Service Corps (N.Y.S.C) is a compulsory one year call to service in Nigeria that is done just after university. It’s literally not that bad as people try to present it, but it’s actually stress that is not needed and necessary and so finishing my service was one of the high points of my year.
GOT : engaged and married to the love of my life. I know that some people are just knowing this for the first time. It’s not surprising because I get this a lot from people. I still get a lot of stares and have a lot of admirers that are actually quite astonished that a girl so young is taken for life. This was indeed the highlight of the year for me and I must say it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.
STARTED: my fashion business which is one thing I am indeed grateful for and happy that I was able to pull off with little money. The name of this fashion business is @ora_ocollective . It’s a clothing brand for every woman and it’s services include bespoke tailoring and ready to wear. Other services include personal shopping and wardrobe styling. You can follow us here on Instagram. It’s a relatively small business that would soon take the world by surprise.
BECAME: better at blogging and every thing associated with it. My flatlays improved and I was able to better understand what having a cohesive instagram feed is.

I got invited to four events this year for the first time ever in my almost two years of blogging. Some of which were @mazelle.studio collection and cocktail event of Lagos Urban Fashion Show. I also got my first product from a foot wear brand called @boldefeet and I must say they have quality footwears. Oh, did I tell you that I also mentored two persons into starting their own blogs. One of which is www.innerglasses.wordpress.com
So there you have it guys, this is basically a brief summary of what went down this year and I’m believing God for a better 2018. Talk to me guys, how did your 2017 go.. There’s a comment section below where you can put down your comments.
